I wanted to to try and make a different genre of trailer, so I therefore I attempted to make a rom-com trailer featured above. This trailer also doesn’t give a clear indication as to what the film is about in order to cause the audience to want to go and find out, however this could cause the opposite effect as people may be unsure if they want to see it as it is unclear as to what happens exactly.
This trailer includes conventions of a typical rom-com as it has a voiceover which is very common, also the only speech in the trailer is to deliver comedic moments and sayings.
There is a clear indication as to who is the main character and the trailer provides the audience with an insight as to what his personality is like.
The soundtrack to the film is very upbeat, which supports the idea that the film is of a comedic nature, it is also very easy listening, so would hopefully entice viewers into going to see the film.
Is this your trailer. Where’s the planning? Where are the rough cuts? It’s just appeared out of nowhere. An examiner would not accept this.
